                                  2017 Haunted Harvest Festival

                                  At Camp Nooteeming

Dear Volunteer Staff and Scouts,


Thank you for volunteering to help with the Hudson Valley Council’s Haunted Harvest Festival at beautiful Camp Nooteeming.  I am sure that you know that the event cannot take place without a crew of dedicated staff and fun loving scouters.    

We are asking that all Staff please register, so that we will know who is on the property and where we have staff or staffing needs.  By registering, you will be able to select your breakfast and lunch.   There is a $3 fee for breakfast and patches and shirts can be ordered when you register.

What Time?     We will be having a set-up day on Sunday October 22nd from 9 am to dusk for all who can help, show up when you can and we will put you to work and feed you. 

For the event, we will be working from Friday at 9:00 am until Sunday when the clean-up is complete.  Again, show when you can on Friday and Sunday and we will put you to work and feed you.  Many hands make the work go fast.  For Registration, we would like to have as many of the Staff as possible register on Friday night at 7:00 pm in the Dining Hall or if you are only showing up on Saturday morning from please register at the Dining Hall 7:00 until 9:00 am.  Breakfast will be from 7:00 to 8:00 am.  The event runs from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. 




Where?   The 2017 Haunted Harvest Fest is held at Camp Nooteeming.  There will be limited parking for Staff, so please carpool as much as possible and be advised that the camp will be closed to motor vehicles by 9:00 am, so please get to the Camp before 9:00 am.  

What to Wear?   The theme is Alien Invasion so if you have a theme type costume please feel free to wear it.  If you have another type of costume (Cub Scout appropriate) you prefer, please wear that.  We will have some costumes available for those who wish to borrow a costume.  Please dress for the weather.

What will we be doing?      When you arrive, you will get a patch, a ticket for your lunch.  The areas include the shooting sports, a haunted house and hearse, haunted hayride, monkey bridge, bouncy hose, face painting, storytelling, campfire, fishing, trick or treat village, and trading post areas.   You will be assigned to an area either prior to the event or on that day.  We will also have some floating staff to relieve you and allow you to take a break or see the event for an hour during the day.    

Things to Know!!  We will have an EMT crew on the property with emergency numbers to call In the event of an emergency, trained scout staff is there to respond.  Also, bring a water bottle to stay hydrated.
