Cub Scout Day Camp is a week long day time camp adventure where Cub Scouts experience a bigger part of Scouting.  Shooting sports, water activities, games, sports, crafts - and much more!  It's all waiting at a Cub Day Camp near you.  Day Camps are offered throughout the summer in variouse geographical locations throughout the Hudson Calley Council.  These programs run Monday through Friday and offer a fun-filled week of challenging Cub Scout activities, exciting adventures and new friendships.

Cub Scout Day Camp is for boys who will be in the 1st to 5th Grades in the fall of 2010.  If your son will be in the 1st grade in the fall of 2010 he musst have an adult partner (not considered volunteer) attending camp with him.

going to Cub Scout Day Camp together with friends from your own Den or Pack really increases the fun for everyone!  Cub Scout Day Camp is truly the best week of a cub Scouts's Summer!  So don't let your son miss out on all the fun and excitement that Day Cam has to offer!

The mission of Cub Scout Day Camp is simple: "have as much fun as possible." Therefore, Day Camp is not intended to be an advancement camp.

Cubstruction 2010

The Theme for the 2010 Camp Season is "Cubstruction 2010."  Many theme related activities are already "under construction: for all programs...not to mention our plans to just have FUN!!!  Webelos Scouts and thier partners will work on activity badges to help them "prepare to become Boy Scouts."

What to bring to day camp

To ensure a successful Day Camp program for our Cub Scouts, volunteers are needed at day camps to assist the staff and guide the Cubs through each day's activities.  The staff is comprised of a Camp Director, Program Director, Field Sports Director, Program Staff, Den Leaders and Assistants, Instructors and additional support staff as needed.

Parents who volunteer to serve on staff and are accepted will recieve 50% refund on their son's camp fees.  Parent volunteers must be registered with the BSA and complete a Volunteer Staff Application.  Camp fees must be paid in full by June 1, 2010.  Adult Volunteers will be reimbursed 50% of the day camp fee upon completion of their camp service.

Volunteer camp staff will be required to attend Staff Training and complete on-line training courses prior to camp.

Financial Assistance

The Council's commitment to all Scouts is: Every Scout deserves a week at camp, and no Scout will miss camp because of a lack of funds.  A campership is financial assistance awarded to a Cub Scout to allow him to attend a Cub Scout summer camp program within the Hudson Valley Council, either weekend or day camp program.

The deadline to submit a campership application is May 15, 2010.  To request a campership, complete the application and return by May 15, 2010 to the Hudson Valley Council.  Applications can be downlaoded at (TBA). or contact the Council Office at 845-566-7300.

Heath & Safety - Our #1 priority

Camper safety is our #1 priority.  Each of the Hudson Valley Council camps is inspected annually by local county health departments and the Boy Scouts of America.  Key staff members are certified by the National Camping School of the BSA.

All camp programs are accessible for Cub Scouts with special needs.  The Camp Director and Camp Health Officer should be informed of those needs in advance, so programs can be adjusted to allow as full participation as possible.

Refund Policy

The $50 deposit is non-refundable.  The balance of the fee is refundable for the following reasons: illness requiring medical attention, summer school, or family emergency.  Refund request must be in writing, include proof (i.e., a letter from a school official or doctor), and be recieved at the Council Office prior to the start of the camp session.
